World Mental Health Day!

This year, World Mental Health Day takes place Friday 10th October 2025, and the focus is on something that touches all our lives, mental health in catastrophes and emergencies. Led by the Mental Health Foundation since 2001, this national day aims to highlight how vital looking after our mental wellbeing is in times of crisis.

During catastrophes and emergencies, our mental health can be put under tremendous strain. Feeling supported and connected, even in small ways, can help reduce stress, boost resilience, and remind us that we are not alone.

This week is a great opportunity to take simple steps to protect your wellbeing: check in with others, offer or accept help, or take a moment to reach out to someone you trust. Even small acts of connection can make a meaningful difference when times are tough.

If you or someone you know is struggling, there’s help available. Services like Samaritans (116 123), Shout (text SHOUT to 85258), CALM (0800 58 58 58), and the Mind Infoline (0300 123 3393) are there to offer free, confidential support 24/7.

By coming together and supporting one another, we can help build communities where everyone feels seen, heard, and supported, today and beyond.
