From celebrity stars to luminous lightsabers: Sittingbourne goes Sci-fi with exciting event

The Forum Shopping Centre in Sittingbourne hosted an out of this world day of entertainment on Saturday 2nd May with its exciting sci-fi event.

Packed with extra-terrestrial fun, including special meet and greet sessions with actors Simon Fisher-Becker (Doctor Who’s Dorium Maldovar), Matthew Dale (Doctor Who’s Big John) and Chris Bunn (aka one of the original Stormtroopers from Star Wars), the event was a huge success for Sittingbourne’s shoppers.

What’s more, the day included exhibitions featuring a life size TARDIS and a Dalek (the alien arch nemesis of Dr Who), for shoppers to admire and enjoy whilst they visited The Forum.

There was also a selection of stalls offering sci-fi themed products, treasure hunts, a face painter, a fancy dress competition, quirky quizzes and further activities courtesy of Luniac Designs.

Rachel Jenman, Centre Manager of The Forum Shopping Centre, commented:

“We loved hosting our Sci-Fi event. Its jam packed programme provided something for everyone with an interest in the sci-fi spectrum to enjoy. I hope anyone who attended the day had a fantastic time and I look forward to hosting even bigger events in the future for Sittingbourne’s residents.”
