Domestic abuse group founder wins community award

The Forum Shopping Centre in Sittingbourne is delighted to announce that Keeley Nash from Sittingbourne has been chosen as the winner of its special ‘Love Your Community’ award.

The award aimed to identify the efforts of an unsung hero in the area and reward them with a special prize just in time for Valentine’s Day. Keeley Nash was selected as the winner after a very close friend, Janet Gray, nominated her for her continuous determination to help others suffering from domestic abuse in the Sittingbourne area.

Joining Hands, Joining Hearts – a domestic abuse group which meets every Friday morning to offer support and advice to women affected by domestic abuse – was launched in April 2016 by Keeley.

Janet said: “Keeley spends every spare hour of the day helping others, and deserves to be rewarded for her efforts. I can’t thank her enough for her commitment to our local community and know many other members feel the same.”

Monica Rana, Centre Manager at The Forum Shopping Centre, added:
“I’m delighted that here at The Forum we’re able to reward outstanding members of our local community. We loved reading the wonderful nominations we received, and I’d like to say a very big congratulations to Keeley for being chosen as our Sittingbourne hero.”
