‘Who’s in The Forum’ declared a great success!
From Wednesday 9th to Sunday 13th April, The Forum Shopping Centre in Sittingbourne played host to a special programme of Doctor Who-themed entertainment which proved to be very popular with shoppers and attracted fans of the ‘Time Lord’ from far and wide.
Visitors to the centre were treated to a variety of Doctor Who activities from a monster-making workshop and fancy dress competition, to face painting, a treasure trail and a sci-fi quiz. In addition, there was an exhibition of Doctor Who memorabilia brought to The Forum by Luniac Designs. SFM Radio broadcast live from the event on Saturday 12th April and even interviewed the Dalek Kronos, following an appearance.
Whilst all activities at the event were free, participants were invited to make a contribution to The Forum’s designated charity, the Sittingbourne Blind Fellowship. In total the event raised over £700.00 for the organisation.
Francesca Donovan, Centre Manager of The Forum Shopping Centre, commented:
“We were absolutely delighted by the number of visitors who joined us for our Doctor Who event at The Forum! We put together a programme of activities for all ages and it was great to see so many people enjoying themselves whilst also raising money for the Sittingbourne Blind Fellowship. Our local community is always very supportive of our events but ‘Who’s in The Forum’ also attracted visitors from much further afield – Doctor Who has incredibly loyal fans!”
