On Thursday 8th September in support of Kent Fire and Rescue, The Forum Shopping Centre in Sittingbourne welcomed 10 representatives from the fire service’s Business Engagement Team to host their educational fire safety event.
The team were in the shopping centre promoting fire safety to local business owners as well as offering the general public advice on preventing and controlling fires in their homes.
In 2014/2015 UK fire and rescue teams attended 496,000 fire related incidents around the UK with 40% of fire fatalities overcome by gas or smoke.1
As well as handing out information about their free seminars, workshops and networking events, Kent Fire and Rescue also parked one of their fire engines outside the The Forum to further educate shoppers and engage with local children in a fun yet educational way.
