The Forum Shopping Centre gives shoppers a running start to the New Year
On Saturday 9th January, The Forum Shopping Centre in Sittingbourne hosted its annual New Year’s Resolution Day, designed to help visitors lead a healthy lifestyle.
A variety of stalls were provided by local businesses and leisure outlets, offering shoppers the opportunity to explore the avenues available in their local community to help them maintain their health and fitness goals for 2016.
Throughout the day local health organisation, Wellbeing People offered shoppers free mini health checks, while NHS Stop Smoking educated shoppers on the dangers of smoking and provided advice and tips on giving up.
The event also gave local residents the opportunity to find out more about the range of community and sport groups on their doorstep. Groups such as Avenue Theatre and TSA Tae Kwon Do gave demonstrations throughout the day showcasing their talents.
Monica Rana, Centre Manager of The Forum Shopping Centre, commented:
“Although many of us are full of good intentions at the start of a new year it can be difficult to stay motivated. That is why we hosted this event - to help provide our shoppers with advice on how to lead a healthy lifestyle and maintain the goals they set themselves at the beginning of the year.”
