The Forum Shopping Centre in Sittingbourne is delighted to announce that The Freedom Centre has been chosen as its new charity of the year for 2018.
The Freedom Centre, founded in 1989, offers people with physical and learning disabilities the opportunity to fulfil their potential through social, therapeutic and educational activities.
Classes currently include English, swimming, arts and crafts, IT and photography and away day trips are also arranged regularly.
As part of the 2018 charity partnership, The Freedom Centre – an acronym for Friendship, Reliability, Encouragement, Esteem, Determination, Opportunities and Motivation - will be able to use The Forum’s regular events and activities as a platform to raise funds and awareness for their cause.
Sam Banks, Fundraiser at The Freedom Centre, commented:
“The Freedom Centre are absolutely thrilled to announce our official charity partnership with The Forum Shopping Centre.
“We are looking forward to developing the partnership and organising some fantastic fundraising events and raising awareness of physical and learning disabilities throughout the year. Our centre provides friendship and support to a wide range of ages, abilities and disabilities in the local area and to have a corporate company on board to help us achieve our aims will be life changing!”
Monica Rana, Centre Manager at The Forum Shopping Centre, added:
“We are thrilled to announce our partnership with The Freedom Centre as The Forum’s new charity of the year. We are looking forward to helping the charity continue to raise much needed funds through our events and activities at the centre and hope that our loyal shoppers show their support to such an amazing local charity.”
